FIA chief fired over poor performance in Greek boat accident
Islamabad: Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir, the Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), was dismissed due to the agency’s subpar handling of the Greek boat catastrophes.
The report claims that a notification to remove the DG FIA from his position has been sent by the Establishment Division.
Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir has been placed on Officer on Special Duty (OSD), per the announcement.
The study claims that significant boat disaster events involving Pakistani migrants happened while DG FIA Ahmed Jahangir was in office.
It is important to remember that a boat capsized in Greek waters on December 16, killing 40 Pakistanis, including a number of migrants.
