China, India agree to resume direct air service after 5 years
After five years, China and India have decided to start direct air travel again.
In a Beijing meeting with Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Masri, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that he was prepared to resume direct flight connections.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs reports that the resumption of direct flights between China and India has been agreed upon.
The framework for the restart of flights will be discussed at a meeting between Chinese and Indian officials shortly.
It is important to remember that direct flight services between the two nations were discontinued in 2025 due to difficult ties that have existed since the military clashes in the disputed border area between China and India in 2025.
